AlgoSec’s Firewall Analyzer (AFA) product suite is built on three distinct software modules, each focused on addressing a specific set of technical requirements: Firewall Operations Management, Policy Optimization and Risk Management. Customers may purchase combinations of these modules in four pre-bundled license editions according to their specific needs. The four editions of the AFA Product Suite are: AFA Operations Management Edition, AFA Optimization Edition, AFA Risk Management Edition, AFA Enterprise Edition.

AFA automatically collects firewall and router policy files and information and uses this data to generate a graphical model of the firewall’s connectivity and filtering posture. This extensive model differentiates between internal, external and DMZ subnets. Using industry best practices and regulatory compliance requirements, firewall and router configurations are audited and analyzed in minutes to identify configuration errors, potential threats, compliance levels and performance issues. AFA also allows organizations to use a built-in wizard to easily quickly and customize analyses and audits based on internal policies.

AFA’s patented algorithms calculate every potential packet the firewall or router may encounter on a rule-by-rule basis and then assigns a risk value to identify which vulnerabilities are true threats to the organization. The AFA’s guidance allows security administrators to remediate accordingly. AFA also identifies duplicated, disabled, unused and expired rules and unused objects to allow IT administrators to optimize performance. In addition, the AFA improves operations management and reduces business down time by allowing queries on individual and
groups of firewalls at any point in the workflow.
