July 22, 2009

Reston, VA – AlgoSec, the leading provider of Firewall Operations and Security Risk Management solutions, today announced that the company has named Kin Mitra to the newly appointed post of General Manager, AlgoSec North America.

Mitra will further expand the AlgoSec brand across North America and manage relationships with domestic customers, as well as AlgoSec’s broad partner base of channel organizations, systems integrators, consultants, and OEMs.  Mitra will also oversee the company’s recruitment and hiring of North American staff.

“With a successful track record of more than two decades in security and networking, Kin’s reputation, wealth of experience and firewall industry domain expertise will be a great asset to our channel partners, customers and to us, particularly at a time when AlgoSec is experiencing such strong growth in the North American market,” said Yuval Baron, CEO and co-founder of AlgoSec. “Kin will play a key role as we continue to drive North American sales supporting our AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer and FireFlow solutions.”

Prior to AlgoSec, Mitra was the Director of North American Sales for Aladdin Knowledge Systems. Prior to that, Mitra spent 11 years with Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. As a Regional Director at Check Point, Mitra oversaw operations in the Southern United States, Caribbean, and Puerto Rico, where he grew his division to over $60,000,000 in annual business. Additionally, Mitra was credited for building the company’s Federal sales division and was instrumental in gaining product certifications for the U.S. market.

“AlgoSec is in a great position right now; not only is the company continuing to grow in a down economy, but the firewall operations and security risk management market as a whole is transitioning out of the emerging stages and into a very hot space right now,” said Mitra. “I’m very excited to be a part of something I’ve had the opportunity to watch grow over the last several years as both an outsider and as a part of an AlgoSec partner organization and am encouraged by what the future holds for us.”
