Highlights from RSA 2020

by

Toni Marie Piccolo, AlgoSec Field and Event Marketing Manager, Americas, was delighted to return to the RSA conference, which took place once again in the Golden Gates City of San Francisco, and shares the highlights.

RSA is widely regarded as one of the leading global cybersecurity conferences. The show draws huge crowds every year; 33,000 attendees and 10,000 exhibitors from 84 different countries. The comprehensive program featured over 700 speakers and 500 sessions, offering the opportunity to explore the latest and most exciting knowledge and developments in the data industry.

We had an impressive booth on display, featuring several elements that drew attendees in including a reception area where we were able to meet and greet direct and prospective customers and provide information about AlgoSec solutions; a one-to-one demo space with separate demo stations; a gaming station with prizes to be won, including the grand prize helicopter ball [pictured], and a theater area, where mentalist Ron First and AlgoSec presenters delivered integrated and entertaining technical presentations

This year was also Algowoman’s US debut who proved to be a big hit with the conference attendees.

Thinking outside the box

Our in-booth interactive theater was a highlight at this year’s conference. Ron First drew in crowds with a variety of mind-bending effects that not only entertained the audience, but also allowed Ron to home in on key AlgoSec product features and messages in an out-of-the-box way.

Effects included spoon bending which demonstrated AlgoSec’s ability to automate the entire security policy change process from planning through to risk, implementation and validation. The spoons represented a security policy that needs to be changed and the fact that changing a policy is a hard process, requiring a lot of manual labor and resources. With AlgoSec, however, the change process is an automatic, “zero-touch automation,” much like the way the spoon bending occurs without any human intervention. Ron’s effects were followed by a demo presentation by AlgoSec technical resources and an invitation to learn more about our solutions at one of the demo stations.

Collaborating with Fortinet

AlgoSec also participated in a Technology Partner theater session with Fortinet at their booth in the North Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Yonatan Klein, Director of Product Management at AlgoSec, collaborated in a joint presentation entitled ‘Effective Multi-Vendor Management – Fortinet & AlgoSec,’ which discussed how joint customers can benefit from AlgoSec’s multi-vendor security policy management capabilities while leveraging Fortinet’s industry-leading Security Fabric’s FortiManager & FortiAnalyzer. The talk also addressed how to automate policy optimization and risk assessment across all your security devices and enhance visibility and exercise greater control over your hybrid / heterogeneous network.

Video interviews at RSA

While at the show, AlgoSec’s CMO Jeffrey Starr and Yonatan Klein, Product Management Director, sat down with Infosecurity magazine’s Editorial Director Eleanor Dallaway. During the discussion, Jeffrey and Yonatan discussed the emerging complex and heterogeneous network ecosystem, and how AlgoSec helps companies manage the associated security challenges through business-driven network security management. You can watch the full interview here.

Yonatan also took part in a webinar for BrightTALK alongside Rolf von Roessing, Board Director for ISACA where they discussed what’s needed to proactively assess security policy changes to minimize risk to your business, avoid outages and ensure compliance.

RSA remains one of our most successful events of the year, enabling productive conversations with current and prospective AlgoSec clients and the opportunity to explore the latest developments in network security policy management. We look forward to the 2021 edition of the show, which will take place from 7-11February 2021 at the same venue.
